Crochet Hello Kitty Stuffed Toy

I found a pattern for this Hello Kitty toy here.  I did have to make a few changes to the pattern because of the different textured yarns that I was using.  I also bought 12 mm eyes because my Hello Kitty worked up larger than the one in the pattern.  I made a bow instead of using a rosette to match the little hat I made in this post.

Numbered Hats

Mike and his friend asked me to make them numbered hats to match their coats they wear in their snow board races.  Don't judge them too hard this was my first attempt at something like this.  I made a graph in excel and tore apart my hats many times.  I don't plan on making more anytime soon:)

Below is one of the coats Mike's mom embroidered a few years ago for them.

Earflap Hats from Creativeyarn

I made these Earflap hats from the blog Creativeyarn in this post here.  I did change the earflaps a little bit.  I couldn't get the circle ones to work out.

I gave the blue and black one to a friend.  I tried to do the earflap strings a little different.  They didn't turn out exactly how I imagined them to.  I think I will stick to braids.

This black and white one is for a friend for Christmas.  I really like how this one turned out.

I left a flower off the purple one.  My friend this one is going to doesn't like things to be to girly.  Me, I like the flowers.

I made this hat for my friend's daughter for Christmas.  I got the free crochet pattern from here.

December 2011 Basic Beanie

Yes, I have made more beanies.  My request list for them doesn't ever seem to shrink.  I have another post of these here.  There is a new "snow camo" hat I made for a friend's son (it's not the same one from my prior post).  He wanted a hat to match the one he saw Mike wearing.

Mike wanted a hat made out of the gray yarn that I made the Baby Bear hat out of.  He wore it for a couple of hours until a friend of his said he wanted a hat like the one he was wearing.  Mike gave the hat to his friend and now I need to make him another one.  Good thing I still have more of that yarn.

Mike thought he needed to include Mustard in his picture.  Poor thing didn't expect to be hanging out on his head!

I'm off to make more hats.  I have many more I need to make before Christmas.

Crochet Angry Birds

I am so excited about the crochet Angry Birds I just made!  I had a lot of fun making these, and it was nice to take a break from hats.  This is my first attempt at making a toy and I really enjoyed it.  I found free crochet patterns for these on a blog Crafts by Starlight.  She has some fun items I want to try out.

Here they all are hanging out on my mantel.

Red Angry Bird.  He probably looks the angriest:)

Black Angry Bird.  He is my favorite and the first one I made.  I love his head feather.

Blue Angry Bird.  He turned out a little goofy looking.  I don't think I got his eyes on right.

King Pig.  I'm glad there was a pattern for a pig.

Cloche Hat

Below is a crochet Cloche hat I made for my friend.  I have made this hat before in this post.

My little sister was nice enough to model this hat for me.

Flower Headband

I made a flower headband for my friend's daughter.  I had some extra green yarn from a different project I am working on (hopefully it will be on here soon) and decided to use some of it for the headband.  I have made this project before in this post.
My little sister was nice enough to be my head model this time!

Mohawk Hat

I made a mohawk hat for my cute nephew.  I just forgot to get a picture of him in it.  The foam head will have to do.

My cousin gave me the pattern.  She has a blog here and a store here.

From the Garden

We are slowly getting better at growing things in our garden.  We grew pumpkins and goards this year.  They were a lot of fun to watch.  Lucky for us they are fairly easy to take care of.
 Assorted Goards
Peanut, Big Max, and Blue Pumpkins
The blue pumpkins are my favorite.  I was a little disappointed we only had 2 of them grow.  One of them grew outside of the fence and the horse took a bite out of it.  So there was only 1 good blue pumpkin.

Baby Bear Hat

I love how this hat turned out.  I used some soft yarn my mom gave me a few years ago.  It's such a soft hat.  Now Mike wants a hat made out of the same yarn.  Good thing I have 3 skeins of it.  I gave this hat to a co-worker that had a baby boy this last spring.
This is another hat pattern by Inner Hooker.  October may just be hat month.  I still have a few more requests to make.

Little Girl Hats

It's the season for hats.  These ones might not be as warm but I think they turned out cute, and I got to use up some left over yarn.
This pattern is Spring Bloom, it is one of Inner Hooker's patterns.  She has cute stuff if you check out her site

It's beanie season

The weather is starting to turn cold here in Utah.  I have started making beanies.
Snow Camo beanie #1

Snow Camo beanie #2
I like how the same yarn makes different patterns.

Green Camo beanie #2

I had to try out my new foam  head model:)  I think his head is a little small!

MY FIRST KNITTING PROJECT

I took a beginning knitting class from Knit Unique last February and learned how to knit a pillow.  The pattern is called "Thick and Wooly Pillow".  I decided to knit a second pillow and just finished it!  I got a little distracted from my projects this summer.  Here is a picture of the front view.

The front alternates between garter and stockinette stitches with button holes.

The back is worked in garter stitches.  The buttons seal up the pillow.

I think the buttons are my favorite part, to bad they are in the back of the pillow!  Here is a close up picture of the front stitches.

I think the pillows turned out good for my first knitting project.  I am giving them to my Mom to put on her white couch.  I am afraid my cats will destroy them if they are at my house!

Is it or boy or girl?

My friend asked me to make a baby hat for her to give as a gift.  She just didn't know if it was for a boy or a girl.  I had some left over camo yarn from my last project so made a baby beanie out of that.  The flower is on a barrette so it can become a girl hat.

My Latest Baby Afghan

It has been a little while between my posts because afghans take me longer to make.  I made this baby afghan for my friend that had a little baby boy.  Mike picked out the colors.  He was insistent that I make a camo blanket.  This was a pretty fun pattern because the blanket is reversible.  It is kind of a checked pattern in the front and a stripe on the back.  My camera didn't like the variegated stripes on the back of the blanket.  It kept making the stripes look psychedelic in the pictures, so I didn't get the best picture of it.

Headwear

I spend so much time in the winter making hats.  I forget to take pictures of a lot of them.
Here is a hat I made myself recently.  It is from a free pattern from Lion Brands.

I made these little owl hats for Aiden and Summer my nephew and neice.  I got the pattern from Crochetville Free Pattern

I made this headband for Stacy.  I got the headband idea from the Creativeyarn blog and added my favorite Lion Brand Flower.
