The Hungry Caterpillar

I made this blanket for a friend that had a baby in July.  These 2 blankets were my inspiration:

I wanted the caterpillar to resemble the book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" .

I made the blanket using a Pineapple Stitch, and did a single crochet border.  I sewed the caterpillar body onto the blanket.

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, and now I'm ready to work on a smaller project.

For more detail, this project is on Ravelry.

Brown Bunny Update

I made a bunny hat and diaper cover last summer see this post.  My friend emailed me some pictures of her son in the outfit several months ago.  I am slow at updating this blog.

I think it turned out good, and this little boy is very cute.

Crochet Princess Hat

My friend's 5 year old daughter told me that she wanted me to make her a Princess Hat.  I found this pattern for a crochet hat with braids and a crown.  I originally made the braids thick like the pattern, but when I gave the hat to the little girl for Christmas she told me she didn't want the braids so fat.  So I pulled out half the yarn in the braids.

Angry Bird Crochet Hats

I'm catching up on my completed projects.  Not that I have worked on anything lately... since I got this little cutie.

My cute little puppy Honey has a tendency to eat yarn, not just eat it...tear it apart!  There has been little project making since we got her.

Last winter I had 2 friends that saw my angry birds I made for my nephew (this post here) and they asked me to make them Angry Bird Hats.  I finally got around to making them this year for Christmas.

I decorated my Christmas tree in hats this year because I was too lazy to pull out the decorations...but I forgot to take a picture of all the hats of the tree.  I got the free crochet patterns from the blog Crafts by Starlight.  I enlarged both patterns to fit adult males since the patterns were made for children.

The Red Angry Bird Pattern can be found here.  I made this hat for Josh.

The Black Angry Bird Pattern can be found here.  I made this pattern for Jason.

Bella Swan La Push Crochet Hat

I made myself a crochet hat back in November, but never updated my blog.  I got the pattern from the blog Jenn Likes Yarn from the Bell Swan La Push Crochet Hat post.  I think I bookmarked this pattern last winter wanting to make it for myself.  I didn't follow the pattern exactly.  The pattern says to double up the yarn to make it thick.  I kinda wanted a thinner crochet hat so I didn't double up the yarn and I had to add more stitches.

You can see my new braces if you look closely at this picture!

I used Caron Simply Soft in Grey Heather.

My dear husband Mike calls me "Tin Man" every time I wear this hat.  I don't care I like it!

Candy Corn Cat Sweater

I made Mustard a Halloween costume this year.  I found this cute Candy Corn Pet Sweater pattern from DIY Maven and decided that Mustard should get one.  I only made it for one of my cats because I knew my other cat wouldn’t let me get anywhere near him with a crochet sweater without it entailing me loosing skin.  Although, the thought of matching sweaters is tempting...

I think the sweater turned out good.  If I had to do it again I would make it longer because Mustard has a long body.  Mustard didn't really mind it, but he was walking around backwards because he couldn't figure out what had a hold on him.

If you have a Ravelry account you can see my project details here.

Crochet Sampler Afghan

Can you believe it…another finish!  These have been far and few this year.  I started this crochet sampler afghan in May and just finished it the other week.  It’s been a busy year with school and work, not leaving much time for projects.  Here is the link for the pattern I used.  I added 4 extra squares to make the lap blanket a little bigger so it ended up being 4x4 squares.  I used "I Love This Yarn" from Hobby Lobby.  If you have a ravelry account more project details are here.

Maybe if I'm lucky I'll finish something else this year.
